Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and situated only a few minutes walk from dos Pescadores beach, you couldn’t be better positioned if your priority is proximity to the sand. While the apartment is small, it does have a kitchenette and an alfresco dining terrace where you can enjoy home-cooked breakfasts in the sun.

Sun & Sand

And with Lagos town centre just a short stroll away, you’ll have an array of restaurants, bars, and shops to choose from. 

Sea and Sunrise

Enjoy some proper peace and serenity at this gorgeous apartment, situated in Carvoeiro in the Algarve. This beautiful home has plenty of space to spread out and sit back, with two outdoor terraces from which to soak up the sun, and features calming and muted interiors to leave you feeling truly relaxed. It's ideal for couples and small groups, and sits in a fantastic location to explore the region, with its gorgeous beaches and fun-loving atmosphere.

Start each day with a cup of coffee and enjoy it out on your terrace while you look out over views of the ocean. Head down to Praia do Paraíso, located just 50 metres away, and have a dip in the beautiful blue water or lie back and relax on the golden sand. Come back up to your central apartment and cool off from the hot sun with a refreshing outdoor shower, before making a pitcher of sangria and firing up the barbecue for a night of feasting. Retire inside when night falls and cosy up in the beds, ready to do it all again the next day. 

Ocean Lookout

It's hard not to pinch yourself as you gaze down from The Scarlet Letter, at the charming vineyards and olive groves on the hill slopes of Douro Valley. There are several nooks to hang out by the pool and we especially love the quirky classroom setting in the gaming room that nudges towards the home's past as a school for kids. Secluded and pristine, a short drive takes you to the town of Pinhão, renowned for its vineyards and high quality Port, while a relaxing boat ride down the river gives you glimpses of the native wildlife. Still further away, the town of Provesende is a peek into the historical architecture and life of this picturesque region. When you're done with the day, recharge by the fireplace with a port and a plateful lovingly cooked by your own personal chef right at home.

The Scarlet Letter

The moment you step into this house, you can tell the owner has impeccable taste. The open living area is a joy to relax in – kick back on the powder pink L-shaped sofa while you leaf through one of the coffee table books. With its earthy green palette, marble worktops, and full range of cooking utensils, you’ll love whipping up meals in the kitchen. Set across three floors, the rooms are wide and airy, and there is plenty of space and privacy for everyone. Downstairs, the two king bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, and there is a further bathroom with a bathtub for soaking in after a day of exploring. 

On the top floor there is a serene, light-filled office space, from which you can step out onto the balcony that stretches across the front of the house, overlooking the Tejo river. 

The home is in a perfect location for those wanting to enjoy the hustle and bustle of a city while being able to relax in the comfort and peace of a little village. Lisbon is easily reachable: walk 200 metres to Porto Brandao where you can catch a twelve-minute ferry to Belem, one of the most culturally significant and beautiful neighbourhoods in Lisbon. On sunny days, drive eleven minutes to the coast of Caparica and you will find miles of golden sandy beaches. 

Casa do Rio

Sitting close to the point at which Trás-os-Montes crosses over to the famed Alto-Douro wine region, this nine-hectare oak forest was abandoned in the middle of the 20th century and mother nature allowed to run her course. That is until 2010 when the farmhouse hidden away on the site was almost completely reconstructed into this incredible holiday home.

There are a few stone walls and wooden beams that hark back to this history, but otherwise, it's a strikingly modern affair, with a stylish collection of artwork, decorative items and furnishings waiting to be discovered throughout the space. There are so many aspects you're sure to be enamoured by as you take a tour, from the minimalist kitchen to the freestanding tub in the master bathroom.

That's not to forget the fabulous amenities here, either. If you're after a dose of relaxation, you're in luck – not only is there an indoor swimming pool, there's a sauna and Jacuzzi to retire to afterwards. There's also a fair bit of outside space for making the most of sunny weather, including a terrace with seating.

Plus, there's a whole range of distractions that lie nearby, too. Parque Natural do Alvão is a short drive away if you're ever in the mood for long rambles through scenic Portuguese countryside, while there are a number of towns close by – Vila Real and Régua among them – in which you can get acquainted with the region's rich gastronomic traditions. 

Regrowth & Rebirth

This magnificent mansion is perched atop the cliff at Praia da Marinha, offering breathtaking views of the ocean and beach. You can walk to the beach straight from the garden when you fancy a dip in the sea – as a change from swimming in the private pool. The pool sits in lush gardens close to several terraces – there’s no shortage of outside space here so you won’t feel crowded even when you’re travelling with a large group. Inside, the villa is authentically Portuguese, blending vintage style with modern comfort. Everything you might need is to hand here, whether it’s a barbecue or a cosy wood-burning stove. 

Eternal Sea Views

Perched upon a clifftop overlooking Salema Beach, this luxurious villa is spread over three storeys with its own private pool. The views are stunning, with bedrooms on all levels and several balconies for enjoying the sunset with a drink. Downstairs, you'll find a self-contained apartment, ideal for guests wanting some extra privacy. With the golden sands of Salema Beach just 600 metres away, families will love it here. To further elevate your stay, your host can provide a range of extras from private chefs to butlers.

Palm Day

For a tranquil stay in Lagos, look no further than this ground-floor apartment. Porto Mós Beach is just 500m away and is easily reachable by car. There's space on the private terrace to dine alfresco, while the communal swimming pool is just steps from your doorstep. Parties and excessive noise strictly aren't permitted at this condominium, so a relaxing trip is guaranteed. For an additional fee, your host can arrange a variety of services to make your stay extra special, including local food hampers, airport transfers, and even private chefs.

By the Seaside

This wonderful villa is on the cliffs above Praia d’Oura, and boasts spectacular sea views. You can even walk straight from the garden to the beach via a steep set of stairs – save some energy for the return climb though. You’ll be just a short walk to Santa Eulalia, with all of its bars and restaurants. What more could you ask for? 

Beach Breeze Villa

This is a bright and spacious duplex apartment in a historic building, located close to the city centre and the tourist attractions of Funchal. The apartment has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, a living room with a sofa bed, a well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom.
